The end of 2015 is almost here and as we recap, we begin to see just how perseverant Winterberry truly is. Last winter was heavy and harsh and extremely challenging for our company as a whole. Spring temperatures did not begin to surface until May, and in our business, losing April is devastating. To make matters worse, the Northeast experienced one of the greatest droughts it has seen in many years. These drought conditions went on for months exacerbating our financial and emotional conditions, so to say that 2015 was a difficult year is an understatement. As you probably know, our industry is very weather-dependent and there are continuous warnings of climate changes. Today, we can’t help but wonder if this is going to be a continual challenge for Winterberry year after year.
On the bright side, we have weathered all of these challenges (pun intended) with grace and we plan to never stop. We have exceptionally talented, dedicated and resilient employees and patrons who make it happen regardless of the situation. And for that, we send a sincere THANK YOU to all.
Wishing everyone a peaceful, joyous and safe holiday season!
