Horticulture Internship – Garden Center
About the internship
Are you interested in the horticulture field? Are you looking for experience? Then submit your application and resume to our garden center. Our first horticulture internship program will be launching for the 2019 Spring/Summer Season and we are looking for applicants. The application cut-off date is January 31st, 2019.
We are a retail garden center with on-site greenhouses, a large variety of
trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. Situated on 16 acres in Southington, CT
we are centrally located. Winterberry Gardens is a multi-faceted landscape,
irrigation and construction company with opportunity for growth within the
Interns will rotate through different departments within the Garden Center; trees
and shrubs, annuals, perennials and growing. There will be many horticultural learning
opportunities while focusing on customer service.
Interns will assist with growing annuals and perennials, assisting customers
with all their plant needs, contributing to the daily operations of the Garden
Center and more. Learning about plant care, maintenance, fertilizers and
customer sales and service round out the spring experience.
All interns will rotate through different departments within the Garden Center. You will be given hands-on instruction on many topics including; planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing and daily operations.
You will be treated as a valued member of our team.
You will be given day to day tasks and be supervised by one of our team members.
You will work with the public, other team members and sometimes you’ll be on your own.
Candidates must be
currently enrolled in a Horticulture Science program.
The spring Internship starts the beginning of April and continues through the
