Pump Technician

At Winterberry, the Pump Technician is both a strategic and hands-on role. The technician must be able to install, repair, replace, or troubleshoot a variety of pumps and/or pump stations. This technician should be mechanical, understand a variety of electrical work and, plumbing work. This technician should be able to work independently, or with an apprentice, or with a team of people.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• The ability to perform physical work, in all types of weather conditions
• The ability to drive a truck and trailer.
• The ability to properly secure a load
• Perform work safely
• Various communication skills
• Mechanical abilities
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Troubleshooting skills
• Independent working skills

Basic Qualifications:

• Construction equipment and safety
• OSHA10/30
• Use of multi meter
• Use of megger for motor testing
• Electrical wiring of 3 phase components
• Plumbing skills for pipe fitting
• Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA Confined Space
• Electrical motor science
• Lifting with mechanical devices and leverage
• Working knowledge of PLC and VFD drives
• Working knowledge of contactors
• Working knowledge of horizontal/vertical pumps
• Welding
• Crane operation
