Mother’s Day Gift Idea’s

Mother’s Day is May 8th this year. Why not do something a little different by getting her a flowery gift that she can enjoy for the whole season, or many seasons to come.

At our garden center you can find many of the traditional Mother’s day gifts like roses, hanging baskets, flowering shrubs, and almost anything to help you spoil mom this year.  But what if you could take it a step further and really wow mom with some great gift ideas that she didn’t expect?

One of the best Mother’s Day gifts is a homemade gift that really shows you’ve put time, thought, and effort into making it special and just for her! You can make something truly unique for her by taking on a weekend planting project.  With a little help from our garden center staff you can turn her favorite color into a beautiful perennial garden. If a color isn’t inspiring enough, we have resources available to help you design the perfect butterfly, hummingbird, or vegetable garden for mom to enjoy all season long!

Maybe your mom is a gardening enthusiast with her seeds started and her garden already planned out for this year. Help her prepare her planting beds and bring her down for a little shopping spree to make her garden her own!  You could even sign her up for a class! We offer many throughout the summer to help gardeners improve their skills.

If little ones want to get involved in a project for mom, scale it down.  Help them plant a mixed container of annuals or plant seeds for a kitchen herb garden.  Get their input on a colorful pot and the plants they think mom would love most. Fairy plants are another avenue that is popular for putting big ideas on a small stage.  They make a great gift and are a fun project for anyone of any age.

Maybe Mom doesn’t have a green thumb at all. For her, you could introduce her to the world of air plants or succulents that require little attention, and even less water. Thinking you might want to avoid plants altogether? Take a look at our bird baths, hummingbird feeders, or garden decorations that can add color and life to any outdoor space.

Everyone has heard of getting Mom flowers for Mother’s Day.  Make it special this year with a living gift that she can enjoy all season long.  Really wow her with a gift that tells her just how special she is to you on every day, not just on Mother’s Day.  What is a better reminder of that than a garden, planter, or decorative ornament she can see from her window every day?
